Bright and balanced juicy honey-processed Ethiopian heirloom from Mohamed Ali, Jimma.
Filter coffee:
Blood orange juiciness and Earl Grey floral-like note with wild-honey sweetness. Bright, zesty, and balanced.
Espresso:
Syrupy and tea-like with bergamot florals and cranberry juiciness and body.
Cappuccino:
Blood orange marmalade on a fresh brioche.
The Producer:
We first visited Mohamed Ali on our trip to Ethiopia in 2020, shortly after Ethiopian laws started allowing individual estates to export their coffee directly. Since that year, we have been working with his coffees, but this is our first micro-lot release.
His farm sits above 2000masl in Ethiopia's primary forest, where coffee trees grow naturally, allowing the producers to grow their coffees without disrupting the forest’s ecosystem. At these heights, the temperature changes drastically between night and day, which brings extra brightness and complexity to the cup.
