The Producer:

Guji Highland Coffee Plantation is a family-owned and operated project founded in 2012 by Wadessa Yachisa and his family members. Their farms sit between 2000 and 2200 meters under the canopy of the surrounding natural forest in the Shakisso area.

The coffee is organically farmed, benefiting from decades of plant debris decomposing on the forest floor. New plantings are added to the farm each year from the local heirloom variety collected nearby and called "the Mother Tree."  The family also works with local smallholder farmers, buying coffee and offering training at their farms and mills.

This coffee is grown near the village of Hangadhi, where the family has selected a group of smallholder farmers who work exclusively by hand. It is a high-altitude coffee dried at the station in the village of Hangadhi that offers a fruity profile with pleasant citrus notes. The coffee is certified organic in recognition of local know-how that respects people and the environment.Strawberry marmalade, delightful berries, and soft elderflower come together in this natural-processed Ethiopian Heirloom from the renowned Guji Highland Coffee Plantation and their project in Hangadhi.
